The islands are Greece's chief morphological trait and an integral part of the country's civilisation. A trip on the Greek waters on your own or on a chartered yacht, offers you the possibility to sail among extremely beautiful clusters of islands, to anchor in naturally protected bays of rare beauty, to visit inaccessible beaches and to swim with safety in exceptionally clear and transparent waters.

Crystal clear waters are waiting for you! Captain Vardis can take you to places known to few.

Don't look the pictures from your computer or laptop, visit Greece and see them yourself !

The Greek territory comprises ±3.000 islands, islets and rocks scattered in the Aegean & Ionian Sea, a truly unique phenomenon on the European continent. Of these islands only 227 are habited. The Greek Archipelago takes up to ± 12.000 km, of the country's total ±19,900 km of coastline offering a highly diversified landscape.

As they are the cradle of some of the most ancient and prosperous European civilisations (Minoan, Mycenaean, Cycladic, etc.), the islands boast unique archaeological sites, an outstanding architectural heritage and centuries-old, fascinating local traditions of a multifaceted cultural past.

All the above, combined with the ideal climate, the safety of Greek waters and the short distances between ports and coasts, have rendered the Greek islands extremely popular among Greek and foreign visitors.

You can get the ferries to the Greek islands, mostly

with more frequent buses to the port of Piraeus.

Easily you can buy ferry-tickets even the last minute

by the local agencies of both harbors (at Pireaus port,

left from the metro terminus exit). General information
